There ya go! We're not zoned at all here. Only restrictions are the covenants, which I think are pretty reasonable. No more than 100 birds, 4 hogs, or 4 goats. Anything else is fair game.

Anyone selling zebras?

A dumb question, a not so dumb question, and a Yay for me!

Ok, so how do I get a signature at the bottom of my posting? I know I can look it up somewhere but I'm exhausted and don't want to.

When candling brown eggs if I see a dark mass should it be stationary to one side, not rolling when I turn the egg? Today is day... um...10ish. and if I come across clear eggs I can now get rid of them yes?

Yay Me! Last Sunday I ran out of the house and got involved in a rather dramatic court hearing. My daughter age 14 diligently turned my eggs for me, but only twice a day (is that bad?). She had to fit it in with school. I finally got home Friday night and around to candling them yesterday and today. I lost count of all the wigglers in the bunch, but out of 26 eggs I had one early death ring, and three clear eggs. At least 14 or so wigglers and the rest have a dark mass that was hard to see through. I am so freaking excited that they made it this far, and through this fiasco.

Did I mention I brought home a baby...so my time spent lovingly turning eggs by hand and candling each one with ooohs and ahhhs has decreased drastically. Hatch day seems forever away...

That's what I say. I live out of city limits. Actually the county road ends just around the curve before our place. People can ***** all they want. If they want city life move to the city. Hell people walk out there houses here and shot there rifles and pistols when they want. I can have all the birds I want.

Well all the birds my wife SORT of tells me I can have.

I make take over some cayugas and swedish blues to sell to fools who like that squish between their toes

- but no banty ducks - the only ducks in our area are runners for the rice paddies and mucovies.

i know somewhere on your profile is where the edit is for signature ... scrool down ..way down to find it ...

twice a day isnt ideal but i doubt it hurt too bad ... i get rid of completely clear ones on day 10 myself.. i actually pulled some last night at day 7 .... not sure what you should see in darker eggs... hatch day does seem to take forever but will be there before ya know it !!!
