didn't plan on being my own emergency! LOL...FYI to anyone trying to steam clear an egg bound hen...do it on the floor ! or you too can visit the urgent care with a horrendous 1st degree burn...feels like someone lit a match to my leg!

Oh you poor thing! I accidentally poured boiling water over myself when I was a kid once. Not a lot thankfully, but still remember how much that hurt. Hope you get better soon!

I have one duckie out!!! 2 more are zipping!! One more hasn't started yet, but they aren't really due until Thursday... My first duck hatch!! Oh my goodness!! I'm a duckie mommy!!!!

Congrats!! I've got duck eggs in the 'bator, but I'm taking them to their owner today, half baked. Unfortunately they are due after we leave

I'll do a batch for myself when we're back. Only problem is I haven't found any duck eggs for sale yet. I've been looking online. Forgot how limited that country's poultry stock is. Anyone feel like shipping me some eggs?

Home made wine: 2 litre grape juice + 1 packet yeast (we used cider yeast), keep at room temp (25*C) for about a week. After that put in a cool room for a few days so the yeast settles. It's a bit rough, but honestly, I've bought worse wine in bottles with labels on! From "champion cellars".

Good vid. Today I need to add more feed. I swear I read you need to leave 1/2" to an inch of water on top. I guess not.

Put my 24 eggs into lock down! One has cracked the shell already. Not a full pip but started. 2 of them not sure if they made it all the way. But we'll see. The air cells seem a bit on the big side. Maybe not locking them down soon enough. Maybe a day late. There due to hatch @ 6am Thursday. So maybe I should be locking them down @ 6am Monday instead of today which is Tuesday. I don't know LOL. Seen 1 or 2 rockin, even though last hatch really never seen one rock until they started to pip. So I take that as a good thing. They probably already turned to were they want to be.

Now the staring starts. HAHAHAHHA

I promised myself I won't do that. But already not working.

ok i am thinking starting on wednesday ( girls day out tommorow ) i will start recapping our days in one summary posts (short ones ) ..and cover for example late tuesday night thru early wednesday night ... and then .. if i have time ( like i have a life before this summer lol ) doing a recap of the week from mondays to sunday night around 10 pm or so and post it every monday ( longer summary to put the week together ..b/c sometimes things go so fast some people cant read and catch up and skip..not that that is a problem or anything is wrong with that) ...how does that sound ?

you watch, the thread will die and no one comes for help anymore!

Just always leave about 4" in the pot after you pull your feed to use for your next batch!
