i have decided to change directions with our chickens/ farm. things are just getting to "commercial" for my taste with what we are doing. i originally got into chickens for self sufficiency, my hatching was for the same purpose. then i decided i wanted to get into show birds, the OEGBs where my first step.
with our move and everything, ive started asking myself how i got into this position with chickens; and what really matters to me. I've looked at the space it takes to do what im doing, and the expense involved. it has been a hard decision but i have decided to part with about 80% of our flock. all of my old english, what silkies i have, my sebrites, d'anvers, d'uccles, rosecombs, pretty much everything but my cochin bantams.
i am gong to keep most of my large fowl breeds, and i am gong to start working on creating/breeding autosexing varieties. i have rhodebars, and legbars. im thinking about recreating cambars, and autosexing crele rocks; along with some others
