I am currently reading 20 degrees, my coops will remain closed until morning in hopes I can open them up with some warmth n sun.

Sally we fixing to get hit here bad Monday. .. they calling for a high of 16....

Our high will be - 18, the low - 30. Wind Chills of - 60... They're saying that frostbite will occur on exposed skin within 7 minutes of being outside.

I moved the ducks and geese inside the barn and I've decided to give the chickens a heat lamp for the next couple of days. It's simply too cold... poor birds...

Half of my chicken friends are bringing their birds inside their basements and garages for the day. One is bringing 20 ducks, 5 turkeys, and 30 chickens into her house. I can't even imagine...

My two CCL Roos, do have some frostbite issues from the last single digits, I let them outside in the wind then and now I know to keep them inside if it gets below 10 PERIOD, I will research it now.... its actually ear lobes. the CCL roos have huge ear lobes that hang in turn the two of them are shaking their heads, not too bad just a spot or two. very strange, researching.
