Quote: I have been spraying at every shavings change every 2-3 weeks or dusting it depending on weather. I dust them every 3 months, and since I have to test for npip its the perfect op to do it at the same time while I am already holding them.

Ok. I'll just write poultry farmer. Now what organization should I be a part of...

Oz do you feed Lysine poultry feed supplements to any of the poultry or farm animals? I forget what vit and mineral sups you buy, I would assume this is an ingredient? can u hook me up with the type you use, its not on my pro-vits bottle. I may switch to your stuff I think it was fairly cheap if I remember.

It says L-Lysine can replace some protein in feeds to minimize costs. If you run into more info if its worth knowing let me know please!

I mix different grains and compounds to get the right protein and lysene levels.

Soy Meal is very high in Lysine and Fish Meal is off the chart.

As components are way cheaper in my neck of the woods than pre-mixed feeds, this is a good solution.

The advantage for you would be to just buy a flock type feed and a bag of soy. You can add soy to boost protien at varied levels based on birds needs instead of buying three or four different feeds and having them go stale.

Here is my very complicated chart. You could replace rice bran/copra meal with corn and get very similar numbers. If you are using a base mixed feed you wont need the extra stuff as much.

in my world, I have simplified it a bit as I dont mix batches of 100KG (220lb) except for the feed for the adult birds and pigs, I dont mix the grower chicken feed - I just give them adult game bird.

I prefer to use multiple sources of feed rather than just rice bran and soy as i think my miing 3 or 4 sources, I will pick up other trace elements - e.g. fish meal has loads of iron and calcium. I dont give layers fish meal as I dont want fishy eggs.
