LOL I hope everyone will be around the next 3 days with Christmas around the corner...please pop in once in awhile incase I have an emergency ...I know its a lot to ask. But I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas I will keep everyone posted. I love this little community...so much knowledge here

Hey y'all, I've been thinking, and I'm starting to wonder if maybe my duck is the one laying all the eggs? She sure does look like she's trying to go broody and she's a call duck so she's small enough to lay chicken-sized eggs... They're light blue/green eggs like they should be for a duck of her kind, and I've only been getting one egg per day for over a week, even though I have two chickens, so... Is it possible that my duck is the one laying?

How interesting!! I have no clue what kinda eggs a call duck will lay! what color was she in the shell?

Hey Kelly, I'll be around during Christmas and checking in as it has become a little addicting... All this great information and like minded peeps! I'm a newby as well when it comes to hatching, but will be around for moral support of frazzled nerves. Very excited for you!

LOL it looks like its under control but I do not feel it...We took the jars out...started to spike to much because there is all the water on the bottom...you don't think opening it those 2 times would effect anything do u? I mean temps were not even stable yet and lockdown should start at 2pm...but we now have duck tape on the lid and there is NO opening it now...we are at 69% humidity and 99 degrees. If we loose humidity over the next 3days like I said before I will stick a dropper in the small vent hole and add water...will that be ok?

I'm planning on 65% for lockdown and have the Hatcher stablized on test runs. I'm only on day 11 and already have anxiety. LOL! I've got the same plan you do to add humidity if needed. And I am certain that I WILL have to sit on my hands during lockdown. Maybe even duct tape. He he!

We used duck tape LOL...I am only hatching 4 chicks but I know they are all alive. I candled them last night and all are moving and the whole egg is dark so they are ready. I just hope they know enough to do their thing and peep on out! I donot want to assist!
