how do you stop yourselves from watching the incubator constantly?? i cant stop looking and watching it.... i think i'm trying to will it to incubate/speed up time and make me some babies!!!

Cool..I used to have a goldfish, a comet ...he got to be over 5inches long!

WOW! Mine must be almost two years old... Maybe he's 2-3 inches long now.

hi ladies and gents.
i am sitting in the lounge at the airport in manila, waiting for my domestic flight. i had a crazy chicken run on saturday. six stops planned but could only manage four. i dropped a drive shaft bearing after leaving offgridmama's place. i limped into escondido and found an open transmission shop. the parts were available locally so in 90 mins i was back on the road. i had to abandon my last 2 stops. one was silkies and the other was barred rocks. that was disapointing.
i rushed to lax and checked in on an international flight only 60 mins before departure. the TSA were cool. they asked if i had documentation but were not concerned when i said no. the eggs were in specially cut foam. it made it easy for TSA. it took less than five mins and off to the plane. ride was not too bumpy.
i ended up with :
8 black copper marans
8 red laced blue wyandottes
9 auatralorps
18 crazy chicken lady rhode island red / mixed eggs
30 offgrid mama polish mix / mixed eggs
73 eggs will go into the incubator late tonight.

The brinsea has arrived!! I already have it set up and switched the eggs over!! I really should get pictures... My homemade one did have good temp and humidity. I think its gonna be a great hatcher!!! Plus it was satisfying and really cool to build something like that all by myself. The blue swedish are the ducks, they are a gorgeous duck. Google some pictures, you'll want some!!

I'm already checking my incubator every 5 seconds, hatch a holic in training

Anyone else have a Brinsea 20 Eco??

And as for animal treats, I'm planning on getting one of my dogs a huge bone to chew on, and the other one a lil squeaky toy. I'm not really sure what were gettin the kitten, but I'm probably gonna get some mealworms and treats for the chickens, and a big bush of iceberg lettuce for my duck haha. I don't have fish, anymore, so no fishie gifts ):

I know how that feels. You'll get over it (for the most part) and freak out the most the last three days. XD

Sally and Marine: congrats on the hatches! I must sit and count one day how many chicks hatched on this thread, if I'll keep up with you all LOL

Sally: we got a guy selling chickens at the market, that's where I got mine from. He's got lots of different breeds too. And we've got loads of breeders and people selling chickens here, so I don't know if there's space left in the market, except for new breeds that's not available here yet... That's why I'm thinking rarer breeds.

So i arrived in Bacolod. I checked in with 3x 70lb boxes and a 50lb golf bag. I arrived minus the boxes!!!

In 2 boxes are incubators (among other things) and in the third are components to make an incubator, i spread out the incubators to mitigate baggage delay issues. Looks like i will be setting on christmas day. Bags have left lax and are heading to guam then manila.
