The two in the brooder. The one in the tupperware container is just a hair shy of being able to climb out. The first one I tried to use was too tall, it either touched the element or the fan piece and the bator wouldn't close. Thankfully I have the backup. :)
awwww how cute! did you dip their beaks in the water? YAY!! My OE's are growing so fast I cant believe it!

help! one of the eggs has a pip near the bottom. hatching in cartons. what do i do?

in the small end? and the air cell is at the other end? if so take it out and tap and see if you can hear it, if you cant chip A TINY TINY hole and look for his beak, if you cant find it candle it and tap and look for movement, alot of times they drown this way or bust the yolk. If its still alive and it has a free beak leave it until its a little louder vocally and you may need to assist it out by removing tiny pcs of shell at a time, BLOOD STOP if you see red veins STOP!

i'm afraid to open the bator unless he really needs it, and should i leave it in the carton the way it is (ie, pointy side down, but pip at bottom)

I dipped the oldest ones beak. Figured she could teach her companion. I am back to being nervous again. There are no pips in the rest of the eggs.

There were at least 9 more with solid chances...

The little yoke chick has company in the dish now. The other chick climbed in and now can't get out. At least she isn't trampling their sibling anymore.
