Our VERY FIRST peeps! THATS RIGHT our first babies from OUR FLOCK!
Meet "Blueberry" Cochin & "Baby" Silkie drying in the hatcher!

congrats!!!

And 4 Silkies Harmony Hatched! Anyone guess what color they are? I havent a clue!
But they are THE most ROUDY chicks we have EVER hatched! and FAST!

And Harmonys eggs in the bator!

you look a little short on eggs

Quote: LOL Do you see the row on the wood to the right? DH is putting eggs in the bator! I dont have the heart to tell him that his roo is yet to do his job! Most were just put in, gifts to harmonyAnn, serama, frizzled/serama, silkies, the ameraucana I won and I have a few of my own cochin in there. So only thing that has inferts pulled is the amercauna, day seven next week so it will clear out significantly!

My guess on Harmony's silkies would be buff. They have the same gold color my baby buffs have. I am a terrible color guesser though.

Sorry for your losses.

I was going to ask you if you have used anything in your hatcher bator to separate eggs? I have been looking for plastic type containers and have not found any that would hold the chick in once it hatched and got its legs working. They are all too short or wouldn't allow for good air flow.

***Candleing Update*** Out of 61 eggs collected, 16 infertile (1 young rooster in the middle of a freeze his last 10 fertile) & 3 quitters. I have great examples with the 3 quitters I'll try and get pictures of. 42 growing strong on day 12. Woo hoo!
