I was candling my eggs last night and I noticed something odd. One of the eggs has 2 air cells. One at the large end, and the other one is in the middle of the egg. Both are nice strong developing air cells.

Another one of the air cells is horribly saddled.. I've never seen one as extreme as this one, but at least all of the air cells that were dislocated are now stationary.

I have 6 left developing, the rest quit at day 7. I get day 3 and day 7 deaths nearly everytime I buy shipped eggs no matter how well I treat them. Do you know the reason for this Sally?

MY button quail had the double air cells!! I dont know what happens with them! perhaps they roll and then get trapped or something... awwwww

My extreme air cell in the last batch hatched without assistance! so glad I didnt help but the two stragglers!

LOCKDOWN 12 Serama YAY and the LAST of them too! Harmony hatches these she will have plenty to choose her breeders from!
so far she has.....

one frizzle roo and 2 frizzle hens

4 straight hens and 2 straight roos

14 chicks that hatched um when was that? 2 weeks ago? and these 12 in lockdown!

I sent 2 roos with the other chickens today, so I am getting rid as needed!



I still cant believe I got rid of so many chickens in one day, DH was very proud heck he fed and closed the chickens for me tonight! so I said "thanks baby now can you please run and get me some chick starter and a bottle of jack?"

he did neither btw and I would say wont be feeding and closing up for me anytime soon

what is the temp now? you need to have someone rub Vic's on your feet and wipe your head with a cool cloth. Does the med bring the fever down or not? if it doesn't you will seek some medical expertise because your brain would be to foggy to think correctly anywhoo!!!
