The new bantam hens are laying already..I am saving for a small hatch...up to 3 eggs in 3 days already...I'm hoping for at least 7 ..storing then in egg carton til time ...guess I will go down later and reclean the bator
 
Hi all! Sally insisted that I introduce myself. I have been reading for the last couple weeks and am in lockdown for my very first hatch. I went into lockdown at 8pm Thursday night. I started with 16 eggs at setting, and 13 made it to lockdown. 2 were infertile and one died at 7 or 8 days. I have 5 D'Uccles, 1 Blue Ameraucana, 1 Penedesenca , and 6 black Austrolorp. Current temp is 102 degrees (LG still air bator) and humidity at 65%. Sitting on my hands...talking to the eggs, trying to convince them to move around and cheep in their shells. This is really going to try my patience!!

I have Icelandic eggs and other LF breeds on day 12 now; I read that Icies hatch early, like day 19 or 20

Is this going to create a problem if I lock down 12 hrs. early?
