Run it empty and check the temp morning afternoon and night for a few days and see what it does , it shoudnt have temp issues if its working properly more then a degree or two if you have it in a stable room. It could be malfunctioning , I got a mini eco and it had issues I sent it back once and they fixed the circut borad but it still had issues so I sent it back again and this time they replaced the circuit bored and now it seems to be running just fine . You may have to be assertive when you talk to them though and unless its brand brand new youll have to pay to ship it back , it iddnt work the first week i had it so even though I had to be very firm they did pay for ups to pick it up and send it back after it was fixed the first time , the next time I had to pay the shipping to them my self and they paid to ship it back to me. Hopefully yours isnt broken though.

Renee, I would ask the seller to put off shipping the eggs if at all possible until you get your bator back. I ALSO suggest finding some more local eggs, via BYC searching and asking, Craigslist (place an wanted ad in farming NOT in wanted section) and last and I have found is a wonderful source is to hook up with locals through BYC have you found your local thread and introduced yourself yet? you will need to go and search for your state or local thread in this area of byc like I am on a PA UNITE thread and its wonderful source of local help and finding birds chicks etc! EGGS!! https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you OHIO is full of some wonderful chicken breeders of QUAILITY chickens too!!

I would set some LOCAL NOT SHIPPED eggs in with the blue wheats when you get them, that will give you a better idea of how good or bad your incubation procedures are, and its ALOT cheaper to learn this way too, you can always sell the chicks on cl or even through the site to your locals!

Lol I don't feel guilty about eating eggs, but I always remember that nasty smell that one of my bad eggs smelled like whenever i do eat eggs. xD Soooo gross.

Lol I feel sooo bad every time I eat an egg, especially if I crack it open and see that a chick had accidentally started developing... I've actually gone to candling every egg I eat before I eat it just to be sure xD

ok, i'm planning on candling all my eggs tonight. whats the best plan of attack?? take them all out and leave bator running while i candle quickly?? or take out small batches??

i have a brinsea 20, so the eggs are a bit difficult to get in and out because of the eggs rails.
