Maybe it is from where every you are getting your eggs? Have you tried someone local? You can always check craigs list in the farming section. I made my own incubator out of a styrafoam cooler but I also am home all day long to regulate temps and humidity ...it can be done but if your not confident do what feels rightThey are blue wheaten marans eggs, I'm not feeling very confident in building incubator myself. I am not sure what went wrong with my 2 failed attempts at hatching, first batch(9 cream legbars sent from Florida, arrived 2 days after shipped) destroyed air cells & 1 egg in that shipment was broken, one began develop then died during early days all the others where scrambled when I opened them. One of them was a tan liquid that smelled rancid. second attempt (4 marans, sent from new york, arrived in 2 days)air cells seemed OK, left in carton first 7 days then placed them on sides. can not see in eggs at all, one egg was filling in. On day 16 start to notice faint rancid smell can not tell which egg it is for sure, day 18 temp drops to 96 for a time during night then went back up ,day 22 heat quit entirely, opened the eggs 2 nothing, 1 looked like a tiny kidney bean.
Yes of course!kel can I use a few of these pics in the article?
