Question, as I have multiple different egg colors going on I was wondering if there is a good way to 'divvy up' the incubator to keep the olive eggs chicks from mixing with the light green egg chicks and brown egg chicks. I would think anything solid would block air movement and cause problems but wire could pose problems too. What do you recommend?
what about putting each color in its own egg carton ?

I has pictures of Hope, and I want to know what you guys think regarding gender: If shes about 5 weeks old i would guess at a pullet sttictly on her comb. All mine by 5 werks the girls combs are pale and boys are getting slightly pink.Good luck on baby girl! SHE IS TOO FLUFFY!!! Dat neck. This is her psychopath look. :3 Also a good picture of her comb. yuss. Her comb. Chin. Feathers. She was preening like she always is.

Would the chicks stay in/near the carton though? And for how long if they do? Or would they start mingling after a few hours? Everything I read says to not open the incubator during hatching and if some start hatching earlier than others it might be hard to track who is who after a while. :/

Quote: They would for a bit.. mine do but you are right they sometimes mingle out... you could band the ones you wanted seperate... i personall,y when there are no pips, pull out hatched chicks to put in the brooder but am careful to watch the humidity and temp when doing so .. but that is me .... anyone else got any ideas ? I have never had to worry about seperating chicks in or out of the incubator ... wish I could give better advice !!!
