Btw, it's not egg related but does anyone have suggestions? https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/739912/business-name-suggestions#post_10355098

Sally - if you want me too, I can ship you the odysseyranch.com cochins from here. I will pack them in my supa dupa foam. They collect the day before and morning of pick up so I could ship on a Monday, You would get Saturday and Sunday laid eggs by Thursday, giving you a couple of days to settle before having to warm them.

Just send the foam back with some Brahmas just before I take off in May.

New bator eggs day 3

Shoot, I missed this somehow. I love that first pic. The colouring is awesome! What light are you using to candle with?

Oh, I crawled under the stairs today to candle the eggs I got and to test our flimsy little flashlight. The cupboard under the stairs is the only place dark enough in the house, but I scared the heck out of my son when I emerged

. Anyway, I was amazed how well that little flashlight worked! I thought I was going to have to go buy a stronger light. That little thing lit the eggs up no problem.

Quote: I would love to, money is an issue for me right now and we wont have hatching size eggs until middle/late summer, by then I will have the dark brahna and serama, I have a trio of cochin now who just started laying but want more nice hens. the hens I have are very nice show breeder stock, so thats what I was attempting to find and failing miserably.

Was it an LED flashlight? That's what I use and it is very small. It is VERY bright too.

How old are all of your chickens Sally?

Quote: The layer penn Roo passed so I added two of my Partridge Brahma Roos, one blue and one gold to the coop, but they are too young for roo stuff, and I think OZ needs pures to take with him. And my pures pens are all young and not laying yet.
