if i am not mistaken showgirls are silkie /turken mix and nn are just straight turken .... showgirls usually have the black skin ... my nn is a pink skin ... hows this for cuteness are three newest family member ..think im gonna call them winking blinkin and nod lol
OMG SO ADORABLE
this was griffin one of 3 reds we had at one point ... he was turken not showgirl like the other one ... but pretty to me ... he was in quarantine here right after we adopted him
Pretty!!!
Good news. The last one that hatched is doing great and is now in the brooder. I have another one almost out. Should have two more by morning. They are both trying to get out. This was the three that I thought had a chance. The other 7 that aren't close are still alive and we are keeping ointment on the inner membrane through the pip holes I created. I have finally got the heat up at a consistent 102. Keeping high humidity.
I hope you get a good hatch :fl
oohh .. candled a bit ago ... 7 yes 7 out of 11 viable and growing .... one is a maybe that i left in ... the other 3 were obviously clear and porous and nada happening so went ahead and pulled them .... sadly my duck eggs were a bust ... the one that had possible veining with closer inspection it was very fine cracks that were inside and not showing on the outside... oh vay !!! so i went ahead and tossed them as well seeing as they were all clear too and quite a few were already a little odiferous (sp??) so decided to give up on that idea .... but im ok with that was a very long shot anyway ... 2 more mallards are coming next thurday and ma the duck has a younger man in there with her so one day later on i should be able to hatch more pekins too !!!!
Awwww
Okay skipping 5 pages. Well bad news came home yesterday and my chick had died. I think if i woukd have been home I could have saved it. But have to work.
:hugs oh I'm sorry

one of our muscovy broodies hatched 20 of 21 eggs. not bad for a first timer!! the other has 15 eggs.
Yay!!!!!
Random pictures: Sophie! The sweetest chicken of them all! (of mine, anyway XD) Hope sunbathing. DOUBLE YOLKER BY HOPE! It was delicious. :3 Happy Hope! My hatched babies! Basil and Sophie! Sophie looks like a half rhode island red half cochin. Basil is probably an easter egger mix. He is definitely a boy. Lokk at those scruffly neck feathers!! :D They curl outwards. :3 HERRO!
YAY 3D!!!!!

Hey guys. I want to do another incubation, but my school drama department is currently using my incubtor for the school play so I can't use it right now... But I was thinking, maybe I can get one of my bird to go broody? It's the time of year mallard ducks would be building nests to hatch, and I've noticed my duck building a nest under the nesting box. She is almost a year old, do y'all think she could go broody? I also have a 6 month old silkie pullet (she hasn't started laying quite yet) is she too young to go broody? She hangs around the chicken's nesting area a lot. If she can go broody that would be great.... How do I get my birds to go broody?

It looks very very good, and I love the way you are handling the matter. I fixed some grammatical mistakes, and also added some suggestions.
I noticed you forgot to add the word "with" in the sentence "but now I am worried that I would be equally disappointed in them as I am ___ the citron hamburg eggs."
Also, the "to's" need two "o"s.

I love proof reading things, and some of the suggestions are probably unnecessary.

THANKS! GREAT PROOF READ! yes, I only got 4 eggs so three is all but one! I also really expected at least one extra egg but we will she how she responds to this

Quote: Just got back from church. It escaped the cup and paper towel. Its running everywhere. I cant tell its shrank any. I put it back in the paper towel and back in the cup. Continue with this process? The chick cant dry out like that. Is it not supposed to. I have it in another incubator now. I had to clean this nasty mess.

referring to my open letter to shippers. it

it lost its front page status because it was "promoted"

rules are rules.

no worries.

Now I personally cant cross post either...

No, it refers to requets for ovations for a post, as it said.
