I LOVE FLUFFY BUTTS!!!!!
Quote: I only notice that issue with older eggs, already had a larger air cell
I understood. Unfortunately, what I am trying to ask never came out clear.
All eggs were 3 days old or less. Of 14 eggs, only 2 had big air cells. All were set at the same time. I wasn't candling each egg when I did candle. I didn't know about the 2 problem aircells until the last week.
Since posting that question, I have come to a decision on what to do this next time. I think it will go much better with my new knowledge, and no distractions (last 2 weeks have been insane).
insane! HA! Welcome to the insanity! any update on the one that was moving? did u assist?
Quote: Ohhhhh I LOVE MY BATORS!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!! can u believe one coolerbator is empty! not to mention the hatcher!
I have had no luck, once they are mean they are mean. but what do I know! What can I do about Basil? He likes to bite me when I try to pet him, and he is mean to Sophie, But when I take him away from her, she wails out long and depressing peeps. I put him in with Hope to teach him a lesson, but I think the tables have turned, and Hope is now afraid of him. XD I really want to keep him, but I don't think I can if he is not sociable, which is a big reason I want chickens (for pets, in other words) My coop has actually been measured to fit four chickens, and I have five. I will have to give him away eventually, but is there a way I can train him to be nice before I do? Anyone have suggestions?
oh no! will the turkey pick on my chickens ya think? I may need a new home for them then!I found Lucy a new home. She will be free-ranging until she passes away peacefully.
I would keep her, but she'll get too big and she's been picking on Goosey and my ducks.
Sally, you will LOVE your turkeys. Lucy is incredibly sweet. I sat down and she ran over and sat in my lap. She's super friendly and curious, even though she had a rough start at life. I can only imagine a turkey after being handled from day 1. Once I move out and get a farm of my own, I will definitely have turkeys. I'll sure miss her.

There are a lot of handling methods, and I tried a few on my boy. None worked for me. I personally think once they turn mean, that's it. Good Luck.![]()
Coch I have to tell you that I have gotten a ton of compliments on my avy! YOUR AWESOME! Thank you so very much!

Lucy doesn't pick on my chickens. Just the ducks and Goosey. In fact, she's been sleeping next to the cochin bantams. They are tiny compared to her! I would also think that if they were raised together, it'd be easier. Lucy was around other turkeys her whole life.
