Lucy doesn't pick on my chickens. Just the ducks and Goosey. In fact, she's been sleeping next to the cochin bantams. They are tiny compared to her! I would also think that if they were raised together, it'd be easier. Lucy was around other turkeys her whole life.
YES of course we want to see them!!!!!!!!

I was a nervous wreck with just the 5. A friend gave us this giant pond planter, and it's super deep, so I put it in the middle of the kitchen floor, add water, they play, no mess, dump, and put it back out on the porch to dry. This way I don't have to worry about my tub. I'm lazy like that

Hey guys!

I opened up another dead egg. When I candled it on day 4, I thought I saw 2 eyes, but I figured that I was just seeing things. Well anyways, I was right! 2 embryos were developing side by side on one yolk. I'm uploading a picture right now. Has anyone else seen anything like this before?

It's probably a good thing that they died now. They wouldn't have been able to make it to hatch day.

Update on the Goose Eggs.

2 are developing, 1 was a quitter, and the last one was infertile. I really hope that I can hatch out a little gander for Goosey.

Interesting beginning photo.

The eggtopsy showed fully formed chicks with fluid around them and yolk sacks. I don't know why they didn't finish.

Im getting frustrated with the soda pop machine. I ordered a new heater and thermostat from Amazon and the thermostat doesn't work properly. All the digital stuff works except it doesn't kick the relay in to give power to the heater. Im sending it back and getting another one. Grrrrrr

Well, I was taking the recycle bin down to the end of my driveway. And on the way back up (I have a very long driveway), I look in the middle of the driveway, and there sat a tiny blue egg! I think robin... It must have fallen from it's nest. It was pretty cold, so I grabbed it and literally ran into the house to throw it into the bator. I candled (It was JUST big enough to fit into the Brinsea OvaScope), and it looks around day 2. I can't tell if it is fertile or not yet.
No change in the duck egg. BUT I can see a teeeeeensy bit of "rockin' and rollin" going on.
I just finished my first Breyer Model Horse Western Saddle. Even I"M impressed by my first saddle.... Made of felt... It turned out great! Now I am going to make the same saddle, but with leather instead, and see if anyone wants to buy them. I am trying to sell miniature tack for some money, and I need one to go as soon as possible!! I am buying something, and I told the lady to hold it for me until I sell one, so I have the money to pay for it with. But I don't know how much longer she will hold it, so I better hope someone buys a saddle!!
