Wow! What an awesome pic!! It is a shame they didn't make it.
Hi all, sorry so quiet. Very distracted and irritated by the situation here. Can't wait to move tomorrow! We have a lot to do today and tomorrow, of course, will be chaos and a 7-hour road trip, but I will update on Saturday probably.

Question of the day: I gave my broody 4 eggs 3 weeks ago. 1 hatched, the other 3 had fluid sloshing everywhere, and obviously nothing was gonna hatch out of them. I took them from her yesterday, but she won't get her big butt off of the nest. I do have food and water within the chicks reach, but shouldn't she be getting up and teaching this chick something? She has not been off of the nest AT ALL in 3 days, and just reaches over and eats and drinks the chicks food and water.

A young BO roo. We're going to collect him tomorrow morning when we leave. So she won't be all alone any more.

Give her one move day and move the food and water bowls. It's normal for a hen to stay put for up to 4 days after the chicks started hatching, but longer than that is unnecessary if there's no more unhatched eggs.
