ugg... Only the first 2 goose eggs were fertile. What is that gander doing???

I'm praying that they'll both hatch and that I'll have 1 girl and 1 boy.

The duckling broke the shell, but not the thick membrane. So I did that part for him, worried that he won't be able to breathe. So I can see the little beak now. I really thought he was dead when I picked up the egg. I pickled it up, not even a wiggle or a peep. He peeped ONCE as I was putting the egg back. The outer membrane JUST started to turn brown, so I got it wet with a little warm water and put it back in the bator. Filled my water "cup" as much as my Mini Advance will let me, and now hoping for the best. If he doesn't start zipping by tomorrow, should I help him out a bit? At 9PM tonight will be 24 hours since he pipped.

I'm here. Wish I could say I've been lurking but every time I get an email update it says there's two million new posts on this thread

and I am soooo busy right now with new chicks, gardening chores etc. Have 15 FBCM eggs in the bator, PeeWee - the chick I was hand feeding is now still tiny but eating on its own, broody hen hatched two chicks on her own, one got killed by others, and we put the unhatched eggs in the bator and one hatched successfully. That's Hemlock (on my keyboard) that we hatched from the broody's clutch. And PeeWee below - hoping it's a she. And 10 month old chicks in the coop, Icelandics and OEs and hopefully a BLRW. chicken math... Have to catch up on posts one of these days!!

I don't have but a minute but I have a question. You know the cancer risks from heated plastic water bottles? well our ckn waterers get warm and even hot in the summer, can the toxins stay in chicken carcass and even their eggs? I will get on laptop when I can to read... Happy busy Friday everyone!

Yep. 14 years of age. Nice birds. I've been to St. Louis to the Cardinal game. I'm way behind and I've got chicks hatching at home. Won't be there until 10 ish.
