i like the basque, they lay well and are bigger than i thought - they should make pretty fair meatbirds. i know the bresse is supposed to be the best tasting chicken, havent eaten one LOL.
i agree with you, when greenfire gets in a new breed- everyone seems to jump on the bandwagon. they think they will make tons of money off of them because of the cost. fact is by the time the chicks get old enough to lay, greenfire has sold thousands of them.
i like the autosexing breeds, and i will probably order some of the ayam cermani's off of that link i sent to you. but, i make the best money off of my regular old rocks and wyandottes.

i have found the basque arent as durable as most of our heritage breeds. not as weak as silkies but not as good as a RIR, rock, or wyandotte. i dont know if it was because they were imported or not.
