I will be bathing chickens (and a muscovy and a MW turkey) all day tomorrow. Luckily, I won't have to keep them in the house too long tomorrow, its supposed to be nearly 50 most of the day. I have a show on Saturday. My six year old is doing showmanship for the first time.

Oz, you must talk to Jerry Segler. He is working on and has nearly perfected a barred ameraucana. He was one of the originators of the breed so I bet he would have some good advice for you. His handle on BYC is Jerryse and he is very approachable. He is going to start selling the barred am eggs in the spring and I'm going to jump on that list as soon as I can.

Howdy yall! Crazy winter weather happening here. Was snow bound to the house with kids out of school for a month or at least it felt that way. I have been getting a few birds ready for a show this weekend. I think I am giving up and taking them as is poop butts and all. I am rather ashamed of their condition but hopefully everyone else showing is having the same issues as I am. This was from the other day. Don't judge them they are still more wet than dry in this pic. My office smelled like a coop for 2 days.

The cockerel was moved tot he garage with a heat lamp that night but the pullets stayed over night. I don't think I can handle ever doing that again. My OCD was severely tested.

I am going to start sorting out breeding pens in January and hatching in Feb.

I placed three ads so far, Two on FB and one on CL for chicks/eggs. I dont want to do them on here yet, I need to majorly update my chicken page lol. I need images, if I can take the cold perhaps I can get some this weekend. But until then I think I should have more pics of my gang since all of those are from last spring early summer!

I GOT A BRAHMA EGG!!! First one since AUGUST!!!

too bad it was outside in the snow with poop all over it!!!! UGGGGGGGGGGGG I washed it and will set it with the serama this weekend! Did I just say I will be hatching again? YOU BETCHA!!! I miss it!!

I cant wait for Chad to get his NPIP he will be doing peasants and Peacocks and I will incubate! If you know of a decent place to get these types at decent prices please let me know but have to be npip.

I would love to hatch geese too! I love ducks until they are about two weeks old! LOL
