Vitamin C and E supplementation improved the performance in terms of live weight, feed efficiency, egg production as well as egg quality in laying hens reared under a low ambient temperature. http://www.agriculturejournals.cz/publicFiles/61523.pdf

I guess I should have added some extra vits, I figured the the chick starter for the whole flock would be enough and a tad of Tuna and table scraps every now and again... They will be getting that packet of vitamins oz uses once I find his post again. My little bottle of provits wont cut it for the entire flock.

Anyone add this to feed?

Its quite cheap 1.99 for a 4oz pack (Mix packet (4 oz.) in 128 gal water or 500 lb complete feed)

I am getting it, since I had amazing results with the other vits with probotics, it would be awesome to do the entire flock for that price!

"By candling the eggs between days 5 and 7, infertile eggs can be detected as “clears” (as the light is not obscured by the growing embryo). These eggs are still suitable for sale for human consumption, which improves the economic viability of this system."

A dog might get one but they get dumped in the compost for garden food to be made into new food.

On the processing thread we are discussing, feeding all carcases except-heads and bad innards, cooking and grinding and making patties. never thought of how much waste there is after thanksgiving meals, chicken dinners not so much, but I havent made whole chicken for some time.... it would be interesting for you to post what you do with all that stuff as well oz. stop in and say hello again and share your thoughts and processes with all of us please.... when u have time we also discussed what to do with sick or ill birds, to trash or feed to something.... I am sure you could give thoughts on that as well.
