Actually DE is organic and 100% natural. Why would it be killing bees? I use it in all our pens and put it in with the bedding. Bees tend to stay away from my ducks and geese and I have never seen bees around the pens. The smell is a turn off for bees who search out sweet smells, flowers and such and it is very unlikely they will go near duck, chicken and geese pens.

I have always been taught that sand is a conduit for fleas unless it is mixed with cedar shavings.
