Hi, so I of course bought DE to lay down in my coop to help in step 1 of fly nightmare. But after laying it down I realized I didn’t lay down non-food grade. I put down Garden Safe DE. I am wondering if going to hurt my chickens?
Here is a link to the product Garden Safe DE
Thank you!!

I used to use non-food grade DE for insect control on my chickens and dogs. Then one day, while powdering my hens with it, I got some in my eye. Never used it again, nor the food grade either. That stuff can cause respiratory damage to you and your animals and there are far more effective ways of dealing with lice, mites, fleas and whatnot. Get rid of it.

How much did you put down? Likely it's no worse than using play sand.

I'd just rake and mix it into the soil really well.

Is this food grade? Can I use it on my rabbits or chickens and turkeys?
