What's the temperature where you are???

22C at 8.39AM full cloud cover. We got a lot of rain overnight - but the promised cyclone was just a big rainstorm by the time it passed us in the wee small hours. Poor Exmouth got badly hit with even the emergency shelter building losing part of it's roof, will take weeks to set back to rights. Carnarvon had a fair bit of wind and rain - but not enough to decimate the banana crops completely thank goodness.

I imagine the wildfire season here out west will be horrendous, they have had very little snow and it’s been mild all winter. Fire season has already started in Alberta, I am already dreading hearing about it. It’s been so cold and snowy here in the east past couple of winters that forest growth has just exploded with growth, if we now get a hot dry summer that also will cause issues with wildfires.

It’s an El Niño cycle starting up now hopefully, we’ll all have to wait and see how our weather is affect around the globe.

I'm not in Canada but I'm in new england the the air quality where i live has been absoltuely horrendous the last 3 summers because of all the Canadian wildfire smoke that comes down and gets stuck over the area. I cant imagine how it is for the folks that live in those areas!

Actually, it's super snowy where I am in Central AB. It's actually snowing as I write this.

There are probably about 4 inches of snow on the ground right now. That's not counting the snow we got before it started melting and freezing.

Oh I am so happy to hear this, it’s so good to get all the moisture you can. I’ve heard it been drier out their this winter.

Meanwhile here we have had almost 10’ of snow 😳😳😳 still have snow in the shade and the bush.

But there’s enough bare now the chooks and horses can nibble on bits of greenery.

Gosh I hope no one was injured.

I’d been watching the storms on the weather network here.

Again not weather related but I am now on a antiviral med for Bronchitis and my calves, neck and ribs are sore from the coughing and not being able to really move or get my head elevated high enough to sleep.

Rest and get better, I know how you feel I am getting over RSV, and I coughed so hard to either pulled muscles in my ribs, or I am thinking I cracked one, very painful to put pressure on. I asked my dr for a prescription cough med, works great.

You need some warm sunny weather - sit outside in the sun, relaxing watching your chooks ♥️

Currently -7C (19F) forecast low is -9C (16f), but it likely be around -12c or so by morning. Clear skies for now, but also have flurries on the way.

This has been the coldest winter here in 50yrs. I am ready for a hot hazy and humid summer!

Thank you. I keep trying to relax but it's not been easy because if I am not coughing then I am trying to get comfortable enough to relax. I hope you get better soon too.

I have worked out west for years and when there are fires nearby the sky is yellow and the air looks like fog - so hard to breath, we wear masks outside it’s so miserable. I’ve seen it get as dark as night at mid-day.

What I really feel bad for are all the animals both domestic and wild.

I was thinking about if you have tried using lidocaine patches for pain. I think that they are wonderful to use because they don't stick to your skin and they are easy to remove plus they don't have any menthol in them, although they do make some with menthol.
