A week ago, we had Ringneck Pheasant and Slate Turkey chicks hatch out. I usually use food-grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE) on my hens, but was curious to know if and how safe it was for chicks. I hate to use commercial wormers at all, and I need to know how this would affect them when it is time to worm them.
Thanks to any and all who can help.

You shouldn't have to worm chicks.

DE works good as a dust but does no good internally on parasite.

I consider DE a food supplement as it has trace minerals and the such, but is not real effective as a wormer. If you read my link to worming in my signature line you will get more information.
