Hi, Where do you all buy your Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade? I've been to Home Depot, Lowes, our Farm & Home Supply Store and most of them didn't even know what it was. I've found it online and the 50 lb. bag is very reasonable but the shipping charges are more than the DE. I'm getting desperate!

Thanks!

I see it at our agway...called insect dust or something similar, but is described as organic and safe in kitchen areas, so I guess hat makes it food grade?

Yes, but the cost is jacked. Our feedstore sells 50lb. bags of ADE (food grade) for around $26.00. However, buried on a back shelf are bags of `safe' insecticide (in doggy beds, under sinks, etc.). Same ADE (difference is that the EPA requires different labeling if it is sold as an insecticide), but the price is $9.00 for 2lb.

Celite and Perma-gard are two of the biggest manufacturers. You might be able to locate a distributor in your region.
