Hello fellow duck lovers! One of my church friends just brought over a bag of diatomaceous earth when she heard we had ducks. Is this something to mix into their feed? What do you all use it for?

If food grade then yes you can use it in their feed to keep it fresh, I don't remember the ratio but I'm sure if you googled it you can find it. has to be food grade though.

The bag has instructions for feeding to livestock, so I am assuming it is food grade.

Must be then. I was trying to remember how much I used for a 50lb bag of feed and thanks for reminding me because I have now added some to keep my feed fresh during this hot summer, but I used 3 cups per 50lb. I keep my feed in a plastic trash can and would pour in a 3rd then add the DE then another 1/3 till I had it mixed in, stir with broom handle to mix it through.
