Did anyone else set eggs today on Valentine's Day?

Compton,
I didn't candle mine for the first 10 days. I may have been past being able to see veins. I did see it was mostly dark in the eggs. The air sacks looked to be in good shape. Waiting for Monday which is when they should make their appearance.

Yikes, I have two bators going. One that is on lockdown as of Friday and one that has 7 day old eggs in it. Both bators read 104 this morning. Hubby turned the baseboards on and the bators went haywire

. I did not think about telling him not to mess with the house thermostate. That's what I get for my lack of communication. Needless to say, he feels bad.

I still have hope that some of the eggs will hatch if not all eight. Two days to go and I'm already looking for rocking eggs

Comptons,

i had some trouble getting my humidity up too. I was staying at like 52% with all the channels filled up so i put a few wet paper towels in and it bumped up into the sixties. Oh and i also thought that i saw a foot kicking up at the top of an egg and have no clue if that is significant at all.

it is funny that once i took out the egg turner the bator temp. has been fluctuating a few degrees. It had been so steady up until lockdown started, I almost couldn't believe it. so now i have fiddled with the temp a little to try to keep it at 99.5. It has been just 24 hours in lockdown and i am bored and eager for something to happen. Patience!!!! I am telling myself.

Crossing my fingers for all of our little chicks!!

I hear peeping from the inside of the bator. I still have my eggs in the egg carton so I'm not sure if there is any rocking. Temps have been steady and humidity has hung around the 70. Fingers and toes are crossed for everyones fluffy butts to hatch out healthy!

Just got in the door after running the kids around. The first pipped egg starting zipping! We also have another pip. My goodness this is a long process from hearing peeping in a egg to the chick zipping. By morning we should have at least one fluffy butt in the bator. Now I'm anxious to see if the other 6 will do anything.

Ok so I've got two who are out and about. I had noticed this morning just after my last reply that four had pipped!! So two of those are working on zipping
and about three or four more have pipped now also. The first one is an EE and it is quite active and loud right now , oh well a third just joined them and is out!!!!!!So it is avoiding the camera here as you see. Humidity is at 80% now.
This is exciting!! Will the chicks disturb the others by knocking around the eggs?

Great news SkippyRoo! The other eggs should be fine from what I have read from others on here.

The one zipping egg is still were it was 3o minutes ago and the other pipped egg is now zipping. No new progress with the other 6 eggs.

How long will you leave your hatched chicks in the incubator? Have you found the heat elements to be a problem with the chicks?

Can't wait to see what is in everyones bators in the morning!

Compton,
I'd leave your chicks in the bator till they dry off. Then you can transfer them. Wait till all that hatched have dried off, other wise the damp ones could be effected.

Skippyroo,
I have found that when one hatches it's peeping seems to make the others want to come out. They'll bang against other eggs and knock them around, I have found this doesn't bother them.
Nice pictures.

Congrats to all.
