Did anyone set September 2nd/3rd? I could use hatching buddies!

No pips, wiggling or scratching on my end

I can't hardly stand it lol

Yeah, this is my last try at shipped eggs. I'm so bummed. Day 20 and not even so much as a pip, shake, wiggle, nuttin'. I didn't hold out much hope, though.

I think the guys at the post office in Sacramento see the word "eggs" or the word "fragile" on the outside & they play soccer with it in the warehouse on their breaks. LOL.

My Aug 31 babies, 24 shipped eggs, final count:

2 Wheaten Penedesencas
1 Partridge Penedesenca
3 black copper marans
2 black orpingtons

they were labeled blue. I was hoping to get at least one blue or 1 black, 1 splash!
1 light sussex

1 BCM died halfway through zipping, the rest were never fertile or quit a couple weeks ago.

And so far on my Sep 3 batch:
2 black Ameraucanas. They were from a bbs pen. Hope I get some more colors in the next few days! I don't want to end up with all blacks from my "blue" breeds!

If it is only day twenty you may still get some chicks

Mine always hatch on day 21 in my Octagon 20 advance EX. I am a little behind you guys with my bantam Polish eggs due to hatch this Sunday. They are shipped eggs that spent 2 extra days in the mail due to the backlog of mail from hurricane Irene. One of the 9 eggs was rotten on arrival, so I didn't think any of them would grow, but 7 did start, one quit and 6 are still going

You never know how many will actually hatch

Last Polish eggs I incubated, 8 went into lockdown but only 4 hatched. Shipped eggs are tricky. I did get a 100% hatch from shipped eggs that came all the way from Georgia to California. I bought them from the BYC member Bargain and her chickens are super healthy and she packs really well! Those two things make a BIG difference in how well your shipped eggs do

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

Is it the same batch of chicks from your photos yesterday? They sure were cute. Did you stagger your hatch or got some yesterday and pipping today?

Yesterday's batch was Aug 31 set date. Today's pip is an early Sept 3!! I stagger my hatches; there is something going on almost all the time. But these are the same parents as yesterday's pictures. Soon as the results are in, there will be more pics!
