Did I buy a tom or hen turkey?

I bought a turkey last night at a poultry auction. They said it was a Tom. But it looks a lot like my hen. Could it be young? How do you tell a tom from a hen when they are young. I know dumb question!!!

snood,spurs,no feathers on head,thicker legs,size and some times coloring.

well if they are bronze then the hens will have white lacing on the tips of the breast feathers and males do not.
