Ty! It is soooo exciting. Looks like you are doing good. Congrats to you. How are your others doing? I have one that peeped almost 24 hours ago and still hasn't made very much progress. It has me somewhat worried.
 
One of the baby chicks keeps pecking at the one that seems to be struggling. It is almost dry, should I take it out?
 
they poke the shell so they can breathe then rest for 24 hrs and if they don't try to get out during that time it is okay, if it has been over 24 hrs, give it a few more then if you do help go slow and if you see veins and stuff stop and put it back
 
I took the 6 out because they kept rolling the pipped eggs over. They seem to be doing good at the moment. The one that was struggling seems to be making very slow progress. I hope it makes it because it will be one of the last of my sister's rooster. He went to chicken heaven yesterday.

It seems most folks recommend leaving the hatchlings with the eggs, but I can see removing them to the brooder if they are causing a ruckus, as long as they are dry and fluffed.

But take anything I say with a grain of salt... I'm just a rank novice at this hatching stuff. I've always bought the pre-hatched kind before.

Years ago I had ducks hatch ducklings, but that was done all on their own.

They seem to be doing good in the brooder. The other eggs seem to be happy that they are out. They are pipping better now.
