hello! i ordered my bantams and they will come in may 2nd, i was wondering if that was to short of growing time for the fair, which is in july, iv'e never raised bantms from chicks before so i was not sure... can any body give me hints and tips? thanks!

Sounds like they'd only be about 8 or 9 weeks old, which may put them in intermediate plumage between chicks and adults, and potentially still quite small. That may be a little too young for showing, but I'd check with someone in the local 4-H club and/or the person who chairs the poultry showing at your fair.

If it doesn't work out for this year, they should be in prime plumage and a good age next year.

thanks! im in 4-h and i was thinking about it and i was worried they would still be peeping at the fair!
