did my broody hen murder my other hen

i have a broody hen who is ontop of 6 eggs, i have 2 hens, i couldnt afford a new coop so kept the broody hen in the hatching part and had the other one in the run around enclosure, i had the coop closed off but so my broody hen could get in & out to eat/drink/poo, i woke up to find my hen in the run around dead with a broken neck, but the coop was still locked up, could my broody hen of beaten her up and broke her neck?

I don't think that your hen could do that, she possibly wouldn't move from here eggs that long, but maybe a predator killed it or it got startled flew up and broke its neck.

nothing could get in its all fenced off then locked up, i was thinking maybe she fell over and snapped it but basically i woke up to find this:

so sad as ive only had her 5 weeks

I'm very sorry.. I lost a hen two days ago what we thought was a fox, but now I'm thinking hawk. It's heart wrenching! I had my hen 1.5 years and she was so special to me. I did replace her with 2 baby chicks the day it happened. It helps me deal with the sadness.
