Did the feed store give me boys instead of girls?

These are supposed to be golden comets and the lady at the feed store assured me they were pullets, but I would think the girls would be redder:

They do have dark bands on their shoulders so maybe they'll be darker as they age?

What do you think?

They look more like buff orphingtons to me, but I would have to see a better picture. Comets are pretty red with white speckles. If you could post another close up picture we may be able to tell you for sure.

I have two red sexlink pullets. They looked just like that about 3 weeks ago.

For a while I thought mine were Buff O's. But I posted their pic here and confirmed they are red sexlinks (Golden Comets, Red Stars).

Here is a pic of two of my GC's when they were just a few days old.

Here is a pic in the brooder of 4 Buff Orp chicks and 2 GC's...they were a few days old...so you can compare a Buff Orp chick with a GC chick for color. (The darker gold ones are GC's)

Oh, and BTW, a couple of my GC's were much lighter than the others. They are all feathering out about the same now that they're 4 weeks old.

If your's are for sure Golden Comets, and they look like it, those are all pullet chicks. Males would be all white.
