That if you let your cornish cross hens live 15 weeks, they start to lay eggs???!!! You could've knocked me over! I went to check on the six hens I haven't processed yet, and lo and behold... a pullet sized egg

Really? That's very interesting. If any of our cornish turn out to pullets I might keep them around a little longer too. I wonder if you bred a cornish pullet to another heavy breed bird if you could get some of the eggs to hatch.
 
Good question. I have a barred plymouth rock, partridge rock and a buff orphington rooster...maybe a plymouth rock cx cross would make a slightly smaller bird with more eye appeal...might be worth a try. I have a few broody hens I could hatch the eggs under....
