Have you ever wondered what people did about crooked teeth before the invention of braces?
You might find the following pictures interesting.
The ones that show excellent tooth and facial structure were taken in villiages of people that were born prior to modern foods being brought into the villiage.
THe ones showing crowding and pinched faces, are people born in the same villiages, after modern foods were introduced.
THe whole story may be read online here.

You can also purchase a copy on Amazon, or see if your library has a copy.

Guess I better pop over to thread killers anonymous...LOL!

I looked at the pictures and all I thought was "They aren't wearing gloves!"

The first oral surgeon I worked for never wore gloves when he started practicing.

Very interesting pics and article.

Very sad what those foods have done to us

Animal studies have shown major jaw structure differences in animals fed raw or fresh food diets versus commercial feeds. There's a particular one on cats that the raw advocates pull up frequently but I don't have the link on hand.

looks like a lot of new genetics was added at the same time as the dietary changes, which I would think woud also explain bad "english" teeth.

Actually, these are not new genetics.
Mr Price actually put pictures of families together. Parents raised on traditional foods, and then their children who were born after the parents started eating the modern processed foods.

The facial structure is the first part of the body to fall apart in the womb, if the mother is not consuming fat soluble vitamins, whole foods like wild or pastured meat, milk and eggs, fat included, and properly prepared grains.

The pinched face in a female is also a sign that the pelvis is small.
These cultures experienced a very sad thing. THe women had previously had very little trouble in childbirth. Babies of all sizes were born with ease and lower pain.
The women who had been concieved and raised on modern foods, endured long, painful labors, and it is much noted that many would die after days of being in labor.

The good news? This can be reversed in as little as one generation.
How, Real Food.

ETA: One thing to note as well is, that Dr Price never found more then a 0.5% cavitie rate in all the villiages that were still eating traditional foods.
Look at today and we have rates that are around 80% now.

This is why he did this study. He was seeing increasing rates of cavities and need for braces in his practice, that he, nor his counterparts, had ever seen before.
