Did your “introverted” chick turn out to be an “introverted” chicken?

We have 8 chicks who are two weeks old. Two of them seem to just want to hang back - to the point where they worry me a little, but they’re eating and drinking just fine and honestly it seems like when we have a lot of the other chicks out of the brooder, the introverted chicks finally step out and explore. Did anyone have any introverted chicks? Did they stay kind of shy?

sorry about that! Like some of the chicks are right in there scratching around together and want to be right in the middle of the action. These two like to hang by the heater, visit the food only when the others aren’t swarming, and generally seem to want to hang back and be on their own.

the chicks interaction with each other will change as their pecking order changes. One who hung out at the brooder with full confidence before is now at the bottom of the pecking order and will let the boss ladies eat first before she heads in for her share. In terms of personalities, those who were more independent and comfortable with me are still pretty much the same. They let me pick them up easily, while those who didn't like being picked up as chicks, still protest loudly when handled. I made sure to handle them lots when they were chicks though, just to ensure that I can get to them when I need to without having to chase after them.
