Didn't get nest boxes in the coop in time.

I didn't get my nest boxes in the coop in time, and I was wandering what I could do about fixing this situation. This morning, I found 2 eggs on the floor in the coop, and I just want to know if this is a big deal (and if I can fix it), or if it's not really a big deal. Either way, I would really appreciate any advice.

Just get the nest boxes in there with bedding in them. Add a golf ball or fake egg in each one. They should start using them.

You are fine. If you need something quick, toss in a box that they can get into easily. We use a couple of kitty litter pails on their side as extra nest boxes and our chickens prefer these over the regular nest boxes...go figure! Toss in golf balls or fake eggs and they will be pretty happy.

Is this for ducks or chickens?
But, yes, get an appropriate nest set up and put some fake eggs in it.
You still may have egg in other places tho, can take time...
...and they may not like something 'new' in the coop.

My chickens like plastic milk crates for nests. You can add something like that, set it on the floor where they were laying, w fake eggs in it.
