Didn't know it was a skunk!!!!!!!!!

night before last i was wondering why my chickens were still out of their coop. It was around 7pm when i tried to shoo them in becuz my babies like to go in early....you see i have a giant mailbox in my coop that my chickens use to lay some eggs...so i walked in my chicken coop and noticed one of my Jersey giants in their and started to ask her ( what are you doin their baby?) WELL SHE TURNED AROUND AND HISSED AT ME!!! TO MY SUPRISE IT WAS A SKUNK!!!!!!!!! I tried not to panic and remembered that the door to that mailbox was still attached.... I gently picked up a rake and slid it under the door to box and SLAMMED IT SHUT!!! LOLOL I then ran in my house got my husband and he and i gently took the mailbox out and put it in our 4x4's trailer and my hubby drove it away... Yes it did spray but not in the hen house WHEW!!! that was a close one!!!!!

OMG, that would have been an AWEFUL smell. Sounds like he was going in to get some Dinner, I believe they will eat the eggs.

Lol....everytime i think of the story you told me i can't stop laughing, thinking the skunk was a chicken and calling out to it like a chicken is hilarious! Until it turned around and hissed...priceless ;-)
