Just wanted to share a story. When I first got my chicken, a rooster, i decided he needed a friend so I bought a hen for him. The two got along great, lovey dovey, shagging like they are honeymoon couples throughout the day.... everything was fine and dandy. I then decided to buy another hen, but when I introduced this new hen, the original hen was not happy at all. She would chase the new hen and kick her butt every chance she got, as if she's trying to tell the new arrival to stay away from her man. Anyway, the fights wouldn't stop so I decided to lock her up in a cage within the pen.... she could still see her 'man' and the other hen so it bothered her a lot, she was causing a ruckus and I thought by tomorrow morning she would be fine. Well, tomorrow came so I decided to go check up on the chickens to see how everyone is doing but when I got there lo and behold the hen was dead! She was laying right on the fence as if she's trying to escape back into her rooster's arms.....errr, wings I should say. I guess the moral of the story is to not separate those that have gotten attached to one another or else one of them might suffer a broken heart and die...... a heart attack.
