If that was meant for me, I ended up with 2 partridge Cochin, 1 black Ameraucana, 1 black copper marans, and 11 Black Jersey Giants, all from my eggs. Of the shipped eggs, ZERO hatched.

I have always been nervous about shipping eggs but I am glad your others aee ok. Sorry to hear the shipping ones didn,t hatch. Do you know if they died in the shell or never were fertile or developed beyond the day they were shippied? Thanks

One blew on day 5, one was removed for porous shell and no development at day 10, the remaining ones died in the shell.

Yeah, these eggs were from a flaky ebay seller (now suspended by ebay). I contacted the seller and asked them not to ship until Monday so the eggs wouldn't be stuck in the post office for the weekend, she instead shipped them on the following Thursday, and they sat in the post office until the following Monday. A little raw when I paid $75 for shipping, and the post office said they spent $9 to ship them.

Oh wow, that's beyond wrong.. I've never paid more than $12 to ship and I usually ship 30 eggs (big red layers and EE). What breed were the shipped? I have some good breeder contacts for Silkies, Polish, Japanese banties, etc..I have the EEs, hatchery reds ( great layers and friendly) and black banties (very cute and sweet)..if I can help you with anything, just let me know..I've shipped to Michigan, PA and MD from WV and everyone has said the eggs are in great shape with great air cells.

These were supposed to be ayam cemani eggs. About a day after I sent the payment, eBay suspended the seller for fraud. If something other than cemani hatched out, I could have got my money back, but since nothing hatched, I'm SOL.

I believe I'd tell them turkeys hatched out of them..that's awful..I've avoided ebay since it started, now I'm glad I have.
I don't know any one with A.C. eggs :( but I've swapped and bought from several people here on BYC and they've all been great. .had one set come dirty and none developed past day 7 but other than that, great experiences

The more I read about he differences, the more confused I become:) I was sold a batch of eggs that were supposedly Americauna eggs and we hatched several. These two were part of that hatch. I'm pretty sure therenja a roo and a pullet here but the colors are not what I have ever seen in americauna..,however, I'm new to chickens so I'm sure there are some this color. Love this thread and hope to learn more as I go.

It's Ameraucana...not Americana, that's your first clue that you have an EE.
If you didn't buy from a breeder and pay dearly for them, they'r probably not Ameraucana.
But hatchery EE can still lay blue eggs, if you're lucky.

Go here http://ameraucana.org/ to the gallery to see real Ameraucana plumage
