People get the two confused a LOT, but the secret is to compare to other breeds.
A true BBR should not look like a Wheaten in female form, but in male form one can easily confuse the two.
Wheaten - Creamy light brown coloration, top is darker than bottom but hardly "dark" in shade. Primaries have black on them, some Wheatens do have residual black tips on the neck too.
BBR - Dark beige/salmony breast, patterned black and brown most of body, gold and black striped neck.
Wheaten Males often have more yellowy orange shades in the hackle/saddle than BBR's.
