Difference between still air and circulated??

I have a Hova Bator still air incubator. It is my first bator and im noticing a lot of people have circulated air incubators. What are the advantages to to circulated and how does it work. Wouldn't a fab constantly moving air lower the temperature of the incubator. Thanks in advance for the answers to my rookie question.

It is kind of like having a furnace in your house that doesn't blow air around. Oh, it will warm the air, but not evenly at all. The top of the house will be very hot while the bottom much cooler. There is a large temperature gradient. In an incubator with a fan, the fan acts like the furnace blower, pushing the heat around so it is even throughout the entire incubator. It isn't cooling, just like your furnace blower doesn't cool the house. In a still air incubator, it is a few degrees hotter at the top, and even other hot spots in other areas of the 'bator. The fan will make the entire 'bator interior temperature the same.

i have a hovabator still air that my hubby added a fan to and hatches are much better with fan. he said it was easy to do.

well then i definately wanna add a fan it seems. Im not gonna do anything while we have eggs in it but after they hatch or if they hatch i will. Im assuming just by looking at all the fans available that a small computer fan would work fine. Am I right? i did notice a temp difference between top and bottom so i added a second thermometer to my incubator. Its around 100 at the top and 95 at the bottom.

my hubby added a computer fan. actually while i had a hatch going. if you wait make sure you have your thermometer on top of the eggs so you get an accurate reading. good luck
