Differences EE, Ameraucana, & Araucana * Pls post pics*

He is really a lovely color, one that I bet lots of folks would love to have, but it isnt a Variety of Ameraucana. You can give it any name you please then, something cool like "this is my Blue Laced Buff EE Rooster, isnt he handsome?" It would be kinda fun if they had DNA testing for chickens the way they do for dogs now and then we could tell what makes up a particular EE. Ameraucana chicks hatch with beards and muffs, so that would be another indication
for EE, but you have to give consideration to the hen and in this case I am guessing she doesnt have them so you already knew the chicks were EEs.

Thank you so much! I don't really blame the owner for calling him an Ameraucana- that is probably what he thought he bought, judging by all of the confusion I read in here. I will just call them EE's and let it be. I am really hoping my chicks get his coloring- designer chicks ROCK!!!

All of my chicks from myers came with the puffy cheeks and someone said that if they had puffy cheeks, beards that they were ameraucanas...i was really hoping for the EE's. I love them either way.

Was at the feedstore yesterday that gets its chicks from Privett. Saw a brooder full of EE chicks....naturally labeled "Araucana". You cant correct the feedstore OR the hatchery because they flat do not care.

On my girls all have muffs and some have muffs and beards and they all came from the same place... Go figure! I guess they can be any combination .
