I finally got some decent pics of my birds a couple of weeks ago and in order to figure out which male Ameraucanas I'm keeping for breeding, I need help from those of you who know - which of these are NOT EE's??? It is soooo hard to figure out which colors are really the APA standards.....

1) Is there such a standard as Red Breasted Red? Roo

2) Silver Duckwing? Pullet with matching Cockerel not sure which is which yet.

Well thats it for now, it seems the other one I had a question about managed to avoid the camera, but I'll get her tomorrow, she has decided that the run is too confining and I have to catch her several times a day.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi SteffyK,
Both of these young cockerels are EE's. The top rooster has waddles underneath his bottom beak. I do not see a beard or muffs on him either. They both are very pretty roosters but neither are Ameraucana.

SteffyK,
Here is a picture of my Silver Ameraucana rooster. Do you see the difference between the two silver colored roosters.......your's compared with mine? The silver ameraucana roosters are not supposed to have any red coloring. Only the female silver ameraucanas have a little salmon reddish coloring to their breast area.
It would benefit you greatly to visit the ameraucana forum because there they have pictures posted of both male and female ameraucanas of the eight recognized color varieties. www. ameraucana. org Hope this helps.

He has a pea comb tuffs but it is hard to tell leg color. He had bad frost bite when we got him and is missing some toes. I will check his skin color today.

My goal is to do a breeding project and end up will all blue egg laying hens. I hatched about 30 of his babys this summer but they are still to young to lay.
