My EE hen, don't know what the cross is, or how old she is, or where she really came from, got her from a kid down the road. but she is very soft to the touch, and a good mother. she took to my bach of feed store chicks, and attacks anyone who she thinks will hurt them. in the first two pics I had them in a stock trailer, the last one they are in their new coop an 8x8 play house

her comb shows she is a cross

she is standing on my brooder

I do not understand this one, a Splash Ameraucana. I thought to be an Ameraucana it had to be one of the APA colors??? I did not see Splash listed on the colors? So wouldn't this be just a pretty EE?

My EE roo, Sydney. Anyone have any idea what color he would be called?

The 3 EE hens - Sabine (the buff), Skittles (black/orange) and Snapple (a grey with brown mottling). Any help on color names would be helpful. The BA is Quiche, her sister Souffle is out of the picture. And that's Sid the roo. Cheerio time. Poor Mo da cat is counting on the safety of DBF's lap.

I would say no, since they are a natural outcome of accepted color varieties. It didn't really make sense not to include splash with the color acceptance of blue.

If anything, lavender should be called EEs.

I find the whole matter a little confusing. If it is not one of the 8 colors then it is a EE except in certain cases??? Does anyone have a list of these certain cases?
I don't mean to be a PIA just trying to make since of the whole color thing and when it is a EE and when it is the real deal.
