White Giants are recessive white, and black underneath. Black is a rather dominant gene, so almost anything crossed to black results in more black. The other is probably wheaten based.I found out in my very first incubation that my White Jersey Giant, Harvey, will only give me Black chicks! Go figure. Now I have another rooster. Fowler is a Ameraucana/Wellsummer Mix, and he is giving me yellow chicks. Even with the easter eggers this remains true. Anything else about these mutts I don't understand. The rooster's genes play heavily into the chicks appearance. Don't ask me, I'm a genetic idiot!![]()
So your Cochin hen is blue? Black (or lavender) x blue gives 50% black, 50% blue offspring, and you got blue.
My Brahma Roo is the dad of the white one.White Giants are recessive white, and black underneath. Black is a rather dominant gene, so almost anything crossed to black results in more black. The other is probably wheaten based.

Black/buff ones look like typical buff x black (or lavender) crosses.
White is from one of your mixed breed hens. Any pictures of those? Someone has a pea comb, and it's not from your Orpington male.
