hello again!
I recently had an issue with hens abandoning nests and such,but now I have them confined. Solved that problem. Last night I candled the eggs and saw life! I was so excited just to be deflated when I realized some of the eggs were at a different stage... Some were filled with little chicks moving around and others still early with blood vessels only. So my question is, will the hen abandon the nests since they won't be hatching at the same time and if I need an incubator what do I need? There are so many to choose from and I'm so confused as to what would do the job with the least amount of work for myself...help me out smart chicken people! Haha just a starting so I need some guidance!

Having the same issue, luckily I solved it but two died. Anyway, how many different stages did you see? If there were say only two then go can remove the younger ones and place them under a different broody (that isn't brooding eggs) or you can make your own incubator. But if you have lots of different stages it is a bit trickier... The hen will stay in the nest for about 36 hours after the first chick hatches, that is sometimes untrue, like with my broody, she sat about 70 hours after the first chick was born. I had a hen who stole a fertile egg after 2 weeks of being sat on another clutch of eggs. The chicks hatched and then 4 days later she left the nest to go show her chicks around, but left the egg behind. So I think your hen will probably do the same thing. I have a Janoel24 incubator, after buying it I read reviews which said it was a bad incubator, but it's been brilliant for me! And hatched nearly all the eggs I've put in it. The only downside is that it doesn't tell you the humidity. So if that doesn't bother you get that one! I'd recommend an incubator that automatically turns the eggs as it is so much easier! There's multiple stages of all the eggs, I'd say for 2 weeks they stole eggs from different chickens and later some themselves.. There's a big difference in all of them :/
